I got a cartilage earring!

I got the top of my right ear cartilage pierced a month and a half ago! It hurt but not as much as I thought it would! I am able to sleep on it now but it will not totally heal until the spring!
I am excited to be able to change it out at that time. :)
This quote is one of my favorites.

The game of Hostage!

There are two teams, of at least four people, with two cars, blindfolds, and two cell phones per team. two member, the "hostages," from each team gets into the opposing team’s car and is blindfolded so they don’t know where they are going. Both cars drive from the starting location and have a certain amount of time to get as far away as possible (the more time, the farther the teams will go, making the game harder). The blindfolded team members are dropped off wherever the car is when time runs out. After this they can take off their blindfold and text or call their team members in the car to try to find them. The goal of the game is for the teams to find the teammates who were taken “hostage” and make it back to the starting point before the other team.
I really want to play this at our next family reunion! I think it would be a total blast!

And yes this is a very random picture of a raccoon! It has nothing to do with the game I just wanted a raccoon!

What I am up to :)

So I have been back from Tennessee for exactly four weeks today! I am soooo happy to be home!! Recently daddy and I have started the filming for Physics 101! Yes! We are hoping to be done filming by October. Editing will take until maybe around this time next year. I have also been busy with my hobby making Flair pins, magnets, mirrors and key chains! I am hoping to attend a craft show as a vendor in August! =D Also I am wanting to sell them on Etsy but have not found a good way to get nice pictures of my inventory. =/ So as soon as I find a way my hobby might be online! I am very happy and excited about my life as long as Christ is with me!

Strawberries & Cream Popsicles

Strawberries & Cream Popsicles

Strawberries & Cream Popsicles (Dairy Free)

Equipment
  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Popsicle Molds
Ingredients
  • 3  cups organic strawberries
  • 1 can full fat coconut milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons raw honey
Directions
1) Puree strawberries in a blender or food processor. Add 1 tablespoon of honey and blend until combined. Set aside.

2) In a separate bowl mix coconut milk, vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of raw honey together. Mix until combined thoroughly.

3) Pour 1-2 tablespoons of strawberry puree into each popsicle mold. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of coconut mix into each mold. Continue to switch between the berry puree and the coconut mixture until popsicle molds are filled. Place molds in freezer.

4) Allow popsicles to freeze completely before serving, about 5-8 hours. Once your popsicles are ready to serve, run the bottom of the popsicle molds under warm water to help release them from the molds. Serve and enjoy!

This recipe filled 12 large popsicle molds.
Note: Other berries can be used in this recipe and frozen berries would probably work if fresh berries aren’t available.

The Lost Art of True Beauty

At the convention in the Opryland Hotel I bought 4 amazing books! The one that I am reading right now is called The Lost Art of True Beauty by Leslie Ludy.

I thought it is really interesting how she says as little girls we always wanted to be a princess dress in flowy, beautiful dresses waiting to be swept off out feet by our knight in shining armor. (well I know I played that. :P) But when you get into your older teens you still have that want to be seen as a beautiful princess, but when we try to find it in today's standards of "beauty" all we get is emptiness.

Something that stuck out to me.
When Christ overtakes a woman's life and transforms her from the inside out, she becomes truly feminine-a picture of elegance, grace, and loveliness blended with sacrificial selfless devotion to her King...
She is enchantingly mysterious, holding her inner life sacred and guarding her heart with quiet tenacity.

The book is really challenging so far but I am enjoying it very much.
I am glad I bought it. :)

Nail art decal!

Put some nail polish on a ziploc baggie and let it dry over night. (You can even swirl colors together.) In the morning it should be dry enough so that you can pull it off the bag and punch a design out of the dried polish with a craft puncher. Place the cutouts on your nails, paint over it with clear and instant decal! I don't have the stuff with me right now to try it but as soon as I get home I really want to!

Blog negligence? Not any more!

Soooo I have been very negligent of my blog!
I am hoping to do better even if I just post a little picture. :)
I am still in Tennessee volunteering at a in-home-business.
In four days I will be half way done!
The internet is so bad here! We are in the middle of no where so the signal is not very strong and because of that the internet will be super slow sometimes and others not work at all! Arg. But other than that things are going great!
I have been on my Pinterest account recently, having tons of fun and pinning lots of great things. :)

My horse Romeo

A conclusion to the post before this about moving my horse!

So that day we moved him again. It started snowing on us and got really cold! But we got there all tired, safe and wet. I gave him some hay, brushed him down and hoped he would stay this time!
We went back the next day and fed him, I did not see him but the food was gone so I knew he was still there! A few days after that I went and saw him again. He was there and came trotting over to me! I got to ride him for a bit. It was a very enjoyable time.

A very tired Romeo!

Eating at his new home!

Tennessee!

I am in Tennessee!!!
This is my sixth day as a Rubies Girl. I am learning lots of new things, for instance how to ship different packages and magazines. I learned about zip codes! That the very first number coincides with the group of states that the item is sent to!
On my second day I was getting a box of books to ship out from the garage but on my way back there was a floor lamp, since I was walking right by it...of course I just had to trip over the cord, break the light bulb and bruise my knee. =/

The outdoors are beautiful here! I am really looking forward to seeing all the trees leaf out!
Oh yes! While playing tag on Sunday I cut my foot because we were running barefoot! It is really deep but it has started getting better already! =)

The view right outside the upstairs window!

Moving my horse (and everything that followed)

A few days ago I decided to move my horse. (It is about 10 miles between the places I was moving him.)
I had not seen or ridden him for 3 months, so he was not in the best of spirits. Also I have no horse trailer so I was going to ride him on the back roads. Well he decided not to be ridden so I had to walk him almost the whole 10 miles.
We finally got him on the property! (after 5 hours of walking!)
Come the next day, the family that he was staying with before had been woken up early in the morning to find my horse BACK in their yard eating grass! ^.^
So.... all my hard work had been un-done.
And now today I am going to move him again and make sure he does not get out this time!

Waterfall by Jon Schmidt

This is one of my favorite pieces of piano music!
A family that I know had 3 boys that each learned how to play this amazing piece!
Now whenever I listen to it, it reminds me of their family.
The boys, my brothers and myself had so many fun times together. =)

Recipe

I tried this new recipe and it turned out Amazing!
My whole family loved it!

Here is the link to the sight I found it on!
http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/no-bake-energy-bites/
No-Bake Energy Bites
Prep Time: 10 minutes
These delicious little no bake energy bites are the perfect healthy snack!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (dry) oatmeal (I used old-fashioned oats)
  • 2/3 cup toasted coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed or wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Method:
Stir all ingredients together in a medium bowl until thoroughly mixed. Let chill in the refrigerator for half an hour. Once chilled, roll into balls of whatever size you would like. Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.
Makes about 15-20 balls.

Tip:
Substitution ideas can abound for just about any of these ingredients! Feel free to substitute in your favorite nut butter (almond butter, sunflower seed butter, ect.) for the peanut butter. And you could also add in some wheat germ in place of some or all of the flaxseed. I would caution, though, against substituting agave nectar for the honey, as the honey’s thickness helps hold things together.
Some other fun substitutions for the chocolate chips (or an addition to them) could include:
  • chopped dried fruit (apricots, dates, raisins, etc.)
  • dried berries (cranberries, cherries, etc.)
  • chopped almonds, pecans, walnuts, or sunflower seeds
  • other chips (butterscotch, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, M&Ms, etc.)
  • other grains (different kinds of oatmeal, rice cereal, etc.)
The joy of these bites being “no bakes” is that this recipe is super flexible. If you end up needing to omit one of the dry ingredients (such as coconut or flax), just add in some extra of whatever other dry ingredient is remaining (for example, the oats). If you feel like your energy bites are too dry, add in extra honey or peanut butter. It’s also not required that you refrigerate these, but I find it helps them stick together much better. Enjoy!!

California Trip

I recently took a road trip to California for a friend's wedding. I stayed a week longer than the rest of my family with long time family friends and flew back by myself for the first time! :)

Movie Critique

I just watched the Bourne Legacy with Daddy! I have liked all three in this series so far! This one I liked  well enough, not as good as the other three but pretty good! The movie arcs moved well but I think they threw quite a few of the characters away (they did not pull out there full potential). The filming was great and I liked the style. So on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the worst movie ever, 10 being the best) it would probably be a 7. Plus it helps that I like Jeremy Renner's acting! XD

Moments in life

There are moments in your life
that make you and sets the course
of who you're going to be.
Sometimes they're little, subtle
moments. Sometimes, they're big
moments you never saw coming.
No one asks for their life to
change, but it does. It's what you
do afterwards that counts.
That's when you find out who
you are.

I took a trip to a second hand store with Mother just a few days ago and these are the clothes that I bought! We had fun together looking through all the clothing and trying stuff on. They were having a sale so all the clothes were 50 cents apiece!  :)

Continents

I found it interesting that all the continents start and end in the letter a, except for Europe that starts and ends in e.
Here they are: Africa, America, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, and Europe!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I am very excited to be starting it! I hope you all enjoy being here. :)

So for my first post, here is one of my favorite bible verses!

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
                                   -Psalm 145: 18-19
